Wines of the month

Each month we select a mixed, 12-bottle case of seasonal wines that we believe to be showing particularly well. These wines are always open for tasting at our shop in Mere, and are discounted from list price for the month.
A choice selection of two white wines, two rosés and two red wines make up our May case. Two bottles of each wine are included - £133.10 per case

This mixed case includes

  • Côtes de Gascogne: Domaine Millet Colombard-Ugni Blanc 2011

    The Domaine de Millet Côtes de Gascogne blanc is a dry white wine with grapefruit aromas and refreshingly tangy, unoaked fruit. This region, famous for Armagnac production, is now the source of good country wines. Domaine Millet blazed a trail for many followers, but it remains one of, if not the, best.

  • Chinon: Château de Ligré Blanc 2012

    A fine, mineral-edged, dry white Chinon wine from Château de Ligré which makes an unusual aperitif.

  • Coteaux de Cap Corse: Domaine Pieretti Rosé 2011

    This pale, salmon-coloured rosé wine displays crisp, redcurrant fruit and a clean, dry finish.

  • Lirac: Domaine Maby La Fermade Rosé 2011

    The Lirac rosé from Domaine Maby is a deep brick-pink colour, with classic berry-fruit aromas preceding a juicy palate, with soft tannins and a dry finish.

  • Saumur Rouge 2011

    Our consistently reliable red Saumur wine, with a bouquet of raspberries and blackcurrants. The soft, fruity palate is supported by elegant tannins making for remarkably versatile easy drinking.
    The distinctive label that adorns our range of red and white Saumur wines is based on graffito of Charles de Gaulle.

  • Collioure: Domaine La Tour Vieille 'La Pinède' 2011

    A rugged, chest-thumping, life-affirming Collioure wine imbued with wonderful black, garrigue fruit flavours and scents.
