Bonne Annee
A versatile 'sommelier' selection for re-stocking cellars.
The inaugural 'Sommelier Service' of 2012 features two interesting whites: the Costières de Nîmes from the Languedoc, alongside the excellent Viognier from the Ardéche. Both wines could be drunk as aperitifs, but would stand up well to spicier cuisine. The Vignerons de Saumur's reliable Cabernet Franc is particularly good in the ripe 2009 vintage and its supple red-berry fruits contrast nicely with the warming, garrigue flavours of the 'Thongue Tradition', a blend of Carignan, Grenache Noir and Merlot.
Available as always, on request, as all red or all white.
