What the wine experts are saying about Yapp Brothers wine merchants:

Terrific wines at all prices, often but not always from lesser-known regions and producers; enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate staff; and transparent value for money without recourse to endless price promotions.

Saint Julien: 2eme Cru Classe: Chateau Leoville Poyferre 2004

“The 2004 shows the property at its best. The blackcurranty aromas do not lack succulence and charm, yet the wine has considerable power, vigor and balance, with an abundance of black fruit flavours and fine length.”

Saint Julien: 2ème Cru Classé: Château Léoville Poyferré 2004

Made from a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, it has been described by Robert Parker as being: “Among the stars of the appellation… a powerful broad beauty”. It eminently approachable now but will cellar well for a further 15 years.

What others think of this wine...

Panel Tasting - Decanter Magazine july 2011 says:

Deep crushed berry, perfumed mint, ripe blackcurrant, mocha and stylish menthol oak bouquet. This has breadth and concentration with grippy, ripe tannins giving plenty of room for the fruit to sing. Still needs time. Drink 2012 - 2022. 18.5 points. (Rated second out of 93 wines tasted).
