Clos de Vougeot: Domaine Paul Misset Grand Cru 2009

Our good friends, the Chérons, whose excellent range of Southern Rhône reds we greatly admire, originally hail from Burgundy. Recently Yves Chéron assumed responsibility for four hectares of Côtes de Nuits vines that were bought in the 1930s by his grandfather Paul Misset and which, impressively, include two hectares of the fifty-hectare walled Grand Cru vineyard at Clos de Vougeot.

What others think of this wine...

Tim Atkin - www.timatkin.com, August 2012. says:

The bottle is ludicrously heavy, but the wine inside is very good indeed. Mid garnet/red in colour, complex, perfumed nose of red fruits, some Asian spices and a beautifully balanced, elegant palate with the stuffing to age. The wine is everything that the ponderous bottle isn't. Impressive stuff from a lesser known name.
