Côte de Beaune Wine

The Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, the limestome ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine. The Côte de Beaune starts between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune and extends southwards for about 25km to the River Dheune.
  • Aloxe-Corton: Domaine François Gay & Fils 2010

This beguiling red Burgundy hails from a small, family-run estate in the North of the Côte de Beaune and is made from pure Pinot Noir that is hand harvested at optimum maturity. 2010 was a stellar vintage in Burgundy and this should age well for at least a decade but is already approachable now - if decanted. With attractive forest floor and mushroom scents and a complex palate of dark hedgerow fruit supported by fine-grained tannins this will make a fine match for classic Gallic dishes such as bœuf bourguignon or coq au vin.

  • Beaune 1er Cru 'Les Teurons' 2010

This classic, muscular Pinot Noir requires 3-5+ years cellaring before starting to reveal its potential, and now has a loyal following amongst our customers. 'Les Teurons' is one of the 42 Premier Cru vineyards (there are no Grand Crus in Beaune) that sits plum in the middle of this 400+ hectare appellation, just outside the iconic home of the Burgundy wine trade.
