A variety unique to the island, it's very perfumed, redolent with raspberry fruit, and almost Pinot Noir in character. Here, a touch of Nielluccio, related to Sangiovese, adds a streak of tannin and acidity, balanced with the underlying spiciness of Maquis herbs. Delicious.
