Thouarsais
The vineyards of Thouarsais, which surround the unprepossessing town of Thouars on the southernmost fringes of Anjou, are both ancient and little-know. François Gigon, who is based in the hamlet of Oiron, continues a family lineage of over a century of winemaking, producing simple, refreshing, unadulterated wines that offer great value for money. Chenin Blanc is the principal grape here producing dry and off-dry white wines of great character and charm.
