Gros Plant du Pays Nantais: Domaine de la Mortaine 2010

Pale, crisp and bone dry with a clean, almost briney, palate and delicate ‘sea air’ bouquet.

Gros Plant du Pays Nantais: Domaine de la Mortaine 2010

Gros Plant was introduced to the region by the Dutch Wine Trade in the 1600s and until the phylloxera epidemic at the end of the19th Century, was the principal grape of the Nantais. Now almost entirely superseded by Muscadet, this characterful and unique wine is becoming endangered.
Gros Plant has been a perennial listing with Yapp Brothers for many years. Due to the fact that production is declining and very little is exported, it remains a relatively undiscovered wine that is very good value for money.
