Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie: Domaine de la Mortaine 2010
Description
A bone dry Muscadet, with a subdued saline nose and a bracing citric zest on the palate. This failsafe crowd-pleaser makes for a bracing aperitif or accompaniment to all manner of fruits de mer.
It is readily identifiable by its distinctive label, designed by Quentin Blake, depicting a sporting Bacchanalian couple
- Style: White Wine, Dry (Sec), Light-bodied
- Region: Loire, Muscadet (Vin de Pays Nantais),
- Producer: Sébastian Chéreau
- Vintage: 2010
- Grape variety (Cépage): Muscadet

- Vinification: Machine harvested grapes from 25-year-old vines have a very simple and traditional vinification on their lees before being bottled the following March. This prolonged sojourn on the yeast debris of fermentation adds body and vivacity to the wine (at the risk of secondary fermentation).
Wines made thus are entitled to be labelled 'sur lie'. - Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 12%
