Delicate, light, decently dry quaffable rosé, the Saint Pourçain La Chinière offers a soft rose petal bouquet and pleasantly crisp acidity on the palate.
The rosé ‘La Chinière’, like it's blanc sibling, is also a dry wine. Made from pure Gamay, it has a lovely pale pink colour, bright berry scents and an appealing palate of red currants and raspberries.
Jancis Robinson MW - JancisRobinson.com 13th July 2011 says:All Gamay from the co-op. Mid salmon. Quite candified on the nose. It does smell like typical Beaujolais! Lots of fruit and juiciness. Really good aperitif, or food wine, if you can handle the pale orange colour. No shortage of acidity but there is fruit here too. 12.5%

Yapp Brothers Staff Review - Jason says:Saint Pourçain La Chinière rosé - a little-known wine from the Sioule tributary of the river Allier (which is itself a tributary of the Loire), it has an attractive coral-pink colour and a subtle bouquet of rosehips and summer berries preceding a crisp, dry, palate with hints of raspberries and redcurrants and a clean, refreshing finish. It is what the French would call vif (lively) and would work well as an al fresco aperitif or shellfish accompaniment – plain prawns or langoustines would be perfect.
