Crémant de Loire Mousseux Brut
Crémant de Loire Mousseux Brut - a rosé wine with an appealing coral pink colour, this delicate fizz displays rosehip and redcurrant flavours and a soft, seductive effervescence.
Vignerons de Saumur
At Saint Cyr-en-Bourg, just to the south-east of Saumur, the dynamic Vignerons de Saumur Cave Co-opérative has long been a source of really well-made and benignly priced wines. Their Saumur Blanc is a conrnerstone of the Yapp list without which we could barely function. The Cave also produces a versatile sparkling Chenin Blanc, a fine sparkling Crémant de Loire rosé and a supple, youthful red Cabernet Franc.

What others think of this wine...
The Wine Gang - August 2015 says:Another Crémant that's terrific value for money, made entirely from one of the Loire's flagship red grapes, Cabernet Franc. The freshness of the strawberry fruit is delightfully vivid, like walking through a ready-to-pick strawberry patch in the height of summer. Crushed berries with lively bubbles, it puts a smile on your face. A great effort by the Saumur co-op. 88/100.
Jane MacQuitty - The Times, 25/07/2015 says:Good pink champagnes don't come cheap. The next best thing is a crémant, with slightly less fizz behind the cork. It's ideal as an aperitif or party fizz. This one is all light, zingy, verdant, rosehip and redcurrant cabernet franc fruit.
Julia Harding MW - JancisRobinson.com, 10/07/2015 says:Cabernet Franc. Very very pale orangey pink. Distinctive nose: orange, apricot, floral and slightly reductive (smoky). Fresh, dry and lively. Satisfying and GV (Good Value) – this is an inexpensive fizz for people serious about wine (as opposed to inexpensive fizz for people just looking for bubbles). Crisp finish. 16/20.
Malcolm Gluck - Condé Nast Traveller, 10th September 2014. says:I cannot prepare food without a glass of wine beside me. This is, I find, especially pertinent when blackening aubergines. As the vegetable chars, it becomes aromatic and thus a spur to the thirst. It may seem fatuous to recommend a wine to drink while carrying out this operation, but I shall do so nevertheless. Cremant de Loire Mousseux Brut Rosé, an elegant sparkling wine from Saumur in the Loire, made from 100 per cent Cabernet Franc grapes, is a steal at £12.95 from Yapp Brothers of Mere in Wiltshire.
The Wine Gang - June 2014 says:The dazzling pink colour makes this wine appear immediately appealing, and it doesn't disappoint on the palate. Fresh redcurrants and pomegranate with a zip and zing to the acid and plenty of fizz without being synthetic and foamy. This may not have the depth of flavour of a pink Champagne, but it's an ultra-relaible alternative traditional method French fizz to sup on this summer. 87/100.
Jancis Robinson MW - JancisRobinson.com 13th July 2011 says:Mid salmon, clear glass and golden label. Very clean nose and pretty tart finish after lots of strawberry fruit. Decent enough for the price and not too aggressive fizz – no froth.
