Saumur Blanc 2012

This crisp, white Saumur wine that is produced from Chenin blanc on the chalky soils of Anjou is a firm favourite with Yapp customers and staff alike. This may have something to do with the eye-catching Charles de Gaulle label, but more likely is because it's a refreshing, fruity, bon marché crowd-pleaser that makes for an ideal aperitif or partner to salads.

Saumur Blanc 2012

Saumur Blanc 2012

The chalky soils and temperate climate of Saumur and Saumur Champigny are ideally suited to viticulture and vines have been cultivated here since Roman times.

The ever-reliable Cave de Saumur Co-opérative ar Saint Cyr en Bourg has supplied us with its failsafe bottlings of Chenin and Cabernet Franc (adorned with our distinctive de Gaulle-esque labels) for so long that they have, by merit and tenacity, effectively become our 'house' wines. The Saumur Blanc Chenin is dry and crisp, clean and unoaked with a minerally edge. Chez Yapp, we usually keep a bottle on stand-by in the fridge and, more often than not, another on the go in the kitchen...

Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy our white Saumur.
If you get in touch with us through websales@yapp.co.uk we can exchange any remaining bottles for something fuller-bodied, like the Ardeche Viognier!?

Many thanks, Yapp Brothers.
