This classic Savennières has a complex bouquet of wild flowers, sherry flora and chalk dust and a generous palate of ripe orchard fruit with subtle undertones of honey and minerals prior to a long, dry elegant finish.
The 2009 ‘Cuvée Classique’ is absolutely terrific with subtle chalk dust and fleurs blanches aromas and a rich, fruity, rounded palate with terrific length and balance. It is already highly accessible but will age well for a further 5 or more years.The Château d’Epiré estate dates from 1640 and has been run by the Bizard family since 1749. The current patron, Luc Bizard, represents the 7th generation of his family to make wine here.
