A fulsome, brick pink rosé wine with pleasant raspberry and bramble leaf aromas and a slightly earthy mid-palate with a soft, dry finish.
The Domaine Ilarria rosé is made from a blend of 70% Tannat and 30% Cabernet Franc and is an attractive brick-pink colour. This wine has enough weight to stand up to home-cured meats and strongly flavoured cheese and has none of the ersatz saccharine notes that blight the genre – a sophisticated, contemplative, gastronomic rosé, if you will.
Jancis Robinson MW - JancisRobinson.com says:One of the very few 2011 pink wines not in clear glass but in dark glass bottle. Mid rose red. Scented, herby and fresh on the nose. Drier than bone dry and very fresh and pastoral. Quite delicate. Different. Distinctively light and dry. 12% 16/20
