This mid-weight, petit manseng dominated cuvée, shows luscious citrus and peach notes combined with elegant buttery flavours. A mid-palate of grapefruit and almonds, and a long balanced finish. A complex “vin gastronomique”.
In addition to the 'Tradition', Pascal Labasse also makes a more gastronomic, barrel-aged cuvée called ‘La Pierre Blanche’ that stays on its lees (with regular battonage) for 12 months prior to racking and bottling. It has a complex bouquet of wild flowers and conference pears and a long, dry, elegant, mid-weight palate that lends it well to pairing with dishes of fish or poultry in sauce.
Yapp Brothers Staff Review - Tom says:Intense, weighty manseng with a rich gastronomic finish. Recently, it partnered teriyaki tuna just as well as the last time I drank it in Pau with piperade and spicy local andouillettte.
