Jurançon Moelleux: Domaine Bellegarde 2008
Pascal Labasse is justifiably proud of the sweet wines he produces, and his ‘Cuvée Tradition’ Moelleux, made from equal parts of Gros and Petit Manseng, has terrific citrus peel and honeysuckle scents and tangy pineapple and grapefruit flavours offset by a zesty acidity. The locals drink it comme aperitif as a pre-prandial sharpener but it works very well with cheese and fruit desserts too.
