Cassis Wine - Buy Wine from the Cassis Region of France

Cassis is one of France’s secret wines that is seemingly plentiful in situ on the terraces of the Côte d’Azur but is surprisingly hard to source further afield. The eponymous town is a pretty fishing port that lies beneath the imposing edifice of the Cap Canaille cliffs on the Mediterranean coast between Bandol and Marseilles. It attracts hordes of well-heeled tourists in the summer season, who presumably account for a fair proportion of the local wine which is served with wonderful, fresh seafood in the little restaurants that line the harbour.

François Sack’s Clos Sainte Magdeleine estate is highly regarded by aficionados and is always amongst the best wines made by the 14 local producers.
