Coteaux des Baux: Domaine de Trévallon Rouge 2009

The 2009 has a great balance of berry aromas, ripe fruit, sweet tannin and clean acidity. Considering its southern location Domaine de Trévallon is a very vintage sensitive wine and it appears that the 2009 is going to be a classic. This will hit its optimum drinking window in about 5 years time and should drink well for a decade thereafter.

Coteaux des Baux: Domaine de Trévallon Rouge 2009

2009 was a terrific vintage at Domaine de Trévallon exhibiting a wealth of ripe, concentrated berry- fruit over a structure of mid-weight tannins underscored by a fine acidity. The sweet, sleek fruit and great delineation make this vintage eminently approachable already (if decanted) but it has at least 2 decades aging potential.
Antoine Dürrbach didn’t hesitate to put it in to the ‘Top 10’ vintages at this iconic estate alongside such gems as 1982, 1985, 1990, 1998, 2000, 2005 and 2007.
2009 is the first vintage to be bottled as an IGP ‘Alpilles’
