Cotes de Provence: Domaine Richeaume: Cuvee Columelle 2009
Description
A dense, dark-ruby coloured wine with a wonderful red cherry nose. This powerful red wine has plenty of structure with firm tannins and is crammed with red fruit and herb flavours.
This is an organic wine- Style: Red Wine, Dry (Sec), Full-bodied
- Region: Provence, Cotes de Provence,
- Producer: Henning & Sylvain Hoesch
- Vintage: 2009
- Grape variety (Cépage): Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache Noir, Syrah
- Cellarage: This wine has the potential to age for 10 years or more.
- Vinification: Biodynamically cultivated, hand harvest grapes, from 35 year old vines, are fully de-stemmed prior to a 3 week cuvaison - a key factor in M.Hoesch's effort to "work the body of the wine - it's dry extract" at this stage - ensuring that complex aromatics will develop later, in barrel. Regular racking and small volume elevage yield wines that seldom require filtration and need only the lightest of finings.
- Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 13.5%

Côtes de Provence: Domaine Richeaume: Cuvée Columelle 2009
‘Cuvée Columelle’ (named after Roman viticulturalist Columella) is blended from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Syrah and 10% old-vine Grenache Noir. It is a rich, heady, hedonistic offering with enticing garrigue herb scents and it is packed with dark stone fruit flavours against a fine tannic structure that will see it mature gracefully for a decade.
