A bouquet of ripe blackcurrants with undertones of mint and pepper precedes a sumptuous palate of concentrated berry fruit offset by fondant tannins. Delicious from release, it actively improves with up to 5 years bottle age.
Sylvain and Henning Hoesch’s ‘Cuvée Tradition’ is a blend of Grenache Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, in descending proportions, that are fermented separately and raised in used oak barrels prior to a rigorous assemblage. It is the estate’s principal bottling in volume terms and, although not cheap, offers great value for money.
Yapp Brothers Staff Review - Tom says:This organic gem manages to bridge a gap between Rhône and Bordeaux, New World and Old, with a beguiling bouquet of garrigue berries and herbs and a warming core of ripe cassis fruit over fondant tannins. This is a template wine for many of the Super-IGPs that have since sprung up and which are now laughably over-priced.
