Châteauneuf du Pape: Domaine du Père Caboche Rouge 2009

‘The charismatic mayor of Chateauneuf du Pape, Jean-Pierre Boisson, bottles early and makes some of the most delicious and alluring wines of the appellation. They are not meant for long-term aging, but rather to be drunk in their first 5-8 years of life.’
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.

Châteauneuf du Pape: Domaine du Père Caboche Rouge 2009

This is the Boissons principal red bottling of Châteauneuf’, called simply ‘Domaine du Père Caboche’. It is blended from 70% Grenache Noir, 10% each of Mourvèdre and Syrah and a diverse ‘field blend’ of lesser varieties. It is always a juicy, voluptuous, ‘come-hither’ wine with abundant ripe fruit and silky tannins.
