Châteauneuf du Pape: Domaine du Père Caboche Rouge 2009

This is the Boissons principal red bottling of Châteauneuf’, called simply ‘Domaine du Père Caboche’. It is blended from 70% Grenache Noir, 10% each of Mourvèdre and Syrah and a diverse ‘field blend’ of lesser varieties. It is always a juicy, voluptuous, ‘come-hither’ wine with abundant ripe fruit and silky tannins.

The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape offers delicious kirsch liqueur, garrigue, pepper and earthy notes in a classic, round, supple-textured, luscious style. 88/100.

Yapp Brothers Staff Review - Tom says:

Scrumptious, soyeux, Chateauneuf’ that was consumed with gusto at recent Yapp Christmas party.
