Crozes Hermitage: Equinoxe 2011

The Graillot family is famous for producing fruit-forward accessible red wines made from the Syrah grape. The Crozes Hermitage Equinoxe is an excellent, youthful, Spring-bottled example, crammed with dark, hedgerow-fruit scents and flavours offset by supple tannins. This wine makes an ideal partner to red meat dishes or flavoursome, hard cheeses.

Crozes Hermitage: Equinoxe 2011

Alain Graillot’s son Maxime is a chip off the old block, producing this youthful Spring bottling of red Crozes Hermitage called ‘Equinoxe’. It is a juicy, forward-drinking, crowd-pleaser and is terrific value for money.

What others think of this wine...

Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate. says:

The charming, seductive, already bottled 2011 Crozes-Hermitage Equinoxe is produced for immediate drinkability. Aged in equal parts old barrels and cement tanks, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with sweet, sexy notes of kirsch, strawberries and black olives. With attractive fruitiness, purity and a lush, heady style, it can be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years. 88/100, drink 2012-2016

Wine Spectator - www.winespectator.com says:

As direct and pure as it gets, with a beam of cassis and violet notes that pick up flecks of white pepper and cherry pit through the polished, unadorned finish. Drink now, 89/100.
