Vacqueyras: Domaine Grand Montmirail 2009

‘A beautiful blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah, the value-priced 2009 Vacqueyras boasts sweet tannin along with deep blackberry and black currant fruit intermixed with floral, forest floor and spice box. Medium-bodied, rich and concentrated, it should drink nicely for 4-5 years.’ 90-92 RP, Drink 2010-2015

Vacqueyras: Domaine Grand Montmirail 2009

Dedicated followers of Pascal Frères wines will be well-versed in the merits of the excellent Vacqueyras Cuvée Speciale, a great value wine that Yves Chèron (the man behind the Pascal label) makes from bought-in grapes.
A lesser known fact is that Yves produces a small amount of an even better Vacqueyras from his own vines called Domaine du Grand Montmirail. We have obtained a 'petite parcelle' of this Southern Rhône gem in the terrific 2009 vintage.
