Collioure Wines
The wonderful town (and appellation) of Collioure is located below the Pyrenees on the Mediterranean coast, 20 kilometres due south of Perpignan. The wines of Collioure are highly distinctive with a dark stone-fruit quality that comes from a long and sunny ripening season. Since 2002 the appellation has been permitted to produce white Collioure, which was previously bottled as Vin de Pays. Christine Campadieu and Vincent Cantié are both steeped in the history of this landscape and their considerable talents have drawn international recognition since 1982, when they unified their family vine holdings. They also boast vine holdings in neighbouring Banyuls, home to a superb Vin Doux Naturel. (see Banyuls)
