Domaine La Tour Vieille: Collioure, La Pinède 2009

As well as the white 'Les Canadells', Domaine la Tour Vieille is also celebrated for its uncompromising red wines, which are named after the individual plots of vines from which they emanate. ‘La Pinède’ is made from a blend of 75% Grenache Noir and 25% Carignan and has diverse hedgerow berry and spice scents and a beguiling palate of dark, autumnal fruit over earthy tannins. It too is well suited to robust Catalan cuisine featuring garlic, black olives, roasted peppers, spicy sausages and wild herbs.

What others think of this wine...

David Schildknecht - erobertparker.com, June 2011 says:

...from tank Tour Vieille's Grenache-Carignan blend 2009 Collioure La Pinede displays a flatteringly caressing texture and seamless ripeness of strawberry and black raspberry allied to hints of inner-mouth florality and a finishing touch of bitter herbs. While not terribly complex, it is exceptionally polished, buoyant, and brimming with primary juiciness for its vintage. I expect it will perform well from bottle for at least 3-4 years. 89-90. Drink 2011-2015.
