Domaine La Tour Vieille: Collioure, Puig Oriol 2008

Like it's 'La Pinède' sibling, Domaine La Tour Vieille make this second equally gutsy and gastronomic red wine called 'Puig Oriol'. It is made from 70% Grenache Noir and 30% Syrah. It has a bouquet of garrigue fruit and dense black fruit, earth and spice tastes and a fine tannic structure.

What others think of this wine...

Robert Parker - Wine Advocate, June 2011 says:

The 2008 Collioure Puig Oriol - as usual, a roughly 60-40 blend of Grenache and Syrah - mingles lightly-cooked black raspberry and cassis with peat, black pepper, and red meat juices on a firm yet juicy palate palpably high in extract and possessed of an admirable sense of transparency to finishing suggestions of herbal and mineral nuances. Look for at least 4-5 years of versatility from this. WA 90, drink 2011-2016
