Buying from Yapp Brothers is fast and easy

Journalists are saying...

Bordeaux and Burgundy might be more chic, but they both struggle to compete with the Rhône for value and variety. The Rhône has superb terroir and a wonderful tradition of small, umpteenth-generation family winemakers. And, as my old friend and fellow Rhône lover Jason Yapp points out, the region has yielded more 90+ Robert Parker wines than anywhere else in the world (1,490 from 1998 to 2005).

Loire (West)

The Loire Valley is the longest river valley in France, stretching nearly 1000 km from its source in the Massif Central to its mouth on the Atlantic coast at Nantes. The river meanders through varied terrain that is reflected in the region’s broad range of wine styles which, in turn, compliment its fantastic variety of cuisine:- vibrant Sauvignon Blanc in the east of the valley, earthy reds from Cabernet Franc and wonderfully versatile whites from Chenin Blanc in the Touraine, sweet botrysised wines of Coteaux de Layon and crisp, refreshing Muscadet and Gros Plant from the windswept plains of the Nantais. The whites act as aperitifs, accompaniments to salads, fish or chicken whilst the reds lend themselves well to charcuterie, grilled meats and cheeses. The sweet Chenins round matters off as an ideal match to fruit desserts and blue cheese.
