The Filliatreau family's red Saumur Château Fouquet that comes from organic vines just outside the Saumur Champigny appellation seems to be getting better with every vintage that we ship. It is a ripe rounded Cabernet Franc with some light minerally nuances that should be drunk within a couple of years, preferably al fresco with a plate of cheese or charcuterie!

The Filliatreaus are renowned for having modernised winemaking in the Saumur and Saumur Champigny regions producing vibrant wines with excellent fruit characteristics. Yapp Brothers have been importing Filliatreau wine since the 1970s - the first vintage shipped of this one was the hugely successful 1990. Since then the wine has gained organic and biodynamic status and acquired a loyal following.
