Beaune: Domaine François Gay & Fils 1er Cru 'Les Teurons' 2018
This classic, muscular Pinot Noir requires 3 to 5+ years cellaring before starting to reveal its potential, and now has a loyal following amongst our customers. 'Les Teurons' is one of the 42 Premier Cru vineyards (there are no Grand Crus in Beaune) that sits plum in the middle of this 400+ hectare appellation, just outside the iconic home of the Burgundy wine trade.
Father and son team, François and Pascal Gay are based in Chorey-les-Beaune and produce a range of wines from different local appellations (Beaune, Chorey, Savigny, Ladoix, Corton). Complex game and forest floor aromas are supported by concentrated dark cherry and damson flavours against a background of rugged tannins.

Domaine François Gay & Fils
Domaine François Gay consists of seven hectares of vines around the village of Chorey-Lès-Beaune. Just 3,400 cases are produced each year, mostly sold to French restaurants and local customers, which means there is only a small amount available for export. Following his recent retirement, the domaine is now run by François' son Pascal, although François still assists in the winemaking process.
The wines produced by Domaine François Gay et Fils are expressive of the terroir, powerful and fruit-forward, yet with detail and complexity, and which improve with age - it is their intention to produce 'pleasure wines.'
