Best of the Press Mixed Case Offer
Save £8.00

A half-dozen personal favourites that have recently been praised by the Fourth Estate.

This mixed case contains two bottles each of:

Crozes Hermitage Blanc: Alain Graillot 2018
"A classic, age-worthy effort, the 2018 Crozes-Hermitage Blanc offers complex notes of honeyed apples and crushed citrus intermixed with notes of sappy green herbs, crushed stone, and spice. This medium-bodied, lively white has good acidity, a supple, elegant texture, no hard edges, and a great finish. Drink 2020 - 2024. 90/100."

Faugères: Château Estanilles 'Vallongue' Blanc 2019
"The 2019 Château Estanilles 'Vallongue' Blanc is a typical southern French blend of Roussanne, Marsanne and Vermentino (all organic) from Faugères. White wine makes up only some 2 per cent of the appellation's output, so it's a delightful rarity. Soft, creamy and full of herbs and ripe peaches, it has the mineral weight to match many a dish."
Jonathan Ray - Spectator Wine Club.

Vin de Pays de Vaucluse: Le Petit Caboche 2019
"The Vaucluse wine region, east of Avignon, makes wonderful Rhône-like reds and this is a fruity and floral example with violet tones and mulberry brightness. Made by Jean-Pierre Boisson, a former mayor of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and his daughter Emilie, this is a 'baby- Châteauneuf' in every respect."
Matthew Jukes -

Saumur: Domaine Filliatreau Château Fouquet Rouge 2018
"The 2018 Domaine Filliatreau Château Fouquet, a 100 per cent Cabernet Franc from Saumur, is beguiling. It's more a lunchtime than a dinnertime wine and none the worse for that. Indeed, I knocked back a bottle during lunch only last Sunday. I had a little bit of unsolicited help, it's true - Mrs. Ray is annoying like that - but I like to think I could have managed all on my own thanks, so fresh, fruity and full of ripe and sour cherry flavours is it."
Jonathan Ray - Spectator Wine Club.

Pic Saint-Loup: Mas Bruguière 'l'Arbouse' 2018
"Certified organic in 2011. 60% oak-vinified Syrah and 40% Grenache aged in concrete. Fresh, aromatic blend of herbs and black fruits on the nose. Nice little grace notes of minerality and an appetising dry finish. Far from heavy with well-managed tannins. Tastes as though it's grown somewhere with a little elevation. Drink 2020 – 2024. 16.5 points."
Jancis Robinson OBE, MW. -

Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence: Domaine des Oullières 'Harmonie' Rouge 2018
"I am a huge fan of the rather rare blend of Cabernet and Syrah. Harmonie is a terrific example, bringing Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Syrah together with wonderful results. Feisty, hearty and honest, this is a slice of Provence with all of the accompanying spice and Christmas Offers 2020 herb detail that one could wish for. It is super value and brazenly authentic, marking a joyful renaissance for this rare style of wine."
Matthew Jukes - MoneyWeek Wine Club.

This mixed case includes

2 x Crozes Hermitage Blanc: Alain Graillot 2018£0.00

"An 80-20 blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, the 2018 Crozes Hermitage Blanc is a 50-50 blend of barrel-fermented and tank-fermented portions. Malolactic fermentation is blocked. It's a deep golden color, rich, broad and honeyed on the full-bodied palate, then finishes with a bit of white pepper and surprising zestiness. Drink 2019 - 2022. 91/100."
Joe Czerwinski - The Wine Advocate.

2 x Faugères: Château Estanilles 'Vallongue' Blanc 2019£0.00

Julien Seydoux's delicious white Faugères wine is from a blend of 45% Marsanne, 35% Roussanne and 20% Vermentino. It's a versatile partner for fish and poultry dishes. Certified organic.

2 x Vin de Pays de Vaucluse: Le Petit Caboche 2019£0.00

2 x Saumur: Domaine Filliatreau Château Fouquet Rouge 2018£0.00

Fred Filliatreau's red Saumur Château Fouquet that comes from vines just outside the Saumur Champigny appellation seems to be getting better with every vintage that we ship. It is a ripe rounded Cabernet Franc with some light minerally nuances that should be drunk within a couple of years, preferably al fresco with a plate of cheese or charcuterie!

Certified as a Vegan wine.

2 x Pic Saint-Loup: Mas Bruguière 'l'Arbouse' 2018£0.00

The Pic Saint-Loup Mas Bruguière 'l'Arbouse' is a rich, compelling red wine with a wealth of wild garrigue herb and berry scents and a lovely, pitchy palate of black fruit and fine-grained tannins.

2 x Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence: Domaine des Oullières Rouge 2018£0.00
