This mixed case includes

2 x Yapp Blanc 2019£0.00

Our 'house' white wine is a crisp, dry Grenache-based blend that is bottled under screw-cap to conserve its youthful fruit. The distinctive label depicting our Citroën H-van was designed by the artist David Chandler.

2 x Saumur Blanc 2019£0.00

This crisp, white Saumur wine that is produced from Chenin Blanc on the chalky soils of Anjou is a firm favourite with Yapp customers and staff alike. This may have something to do with the eye-catching Charles de Gaulle label, but more likely is because this Saumur Blanc is a refreshing, fruity, bon marché crowd-pleaser that makes for an ideal aperitif or partner to salads.

2 x Picpoul de Pinet: Domaine Gaujal 2019£0.00

This alluring and tangy Picpoul de Pinet wine is made just north of the Bassin de Thau, a large salt water lagoon near Montpellier in the Languedoc. It makes a bracing aperitif, but a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet and a bucket of oysters? Food and wine matching doesn't get much simpler or better than that.

2 x Yapp Rouge 2018£0.00

Our 'house' red wine is made from pure Cabernet Sauvignon and, consequently, exhibits a mid-weight palate of cassis fruit over a background of ripe tannins. It is light enough to drink without food but makes a versatile partner to charcuterie, cheese, stews and grills, making it an ideal kitchen table red.

2 x Côtes du Rhône: Domaine Saint Gayan 'Trescartes' 2017£0.00

Yapp is known as a Rhône specialist and this is our flagship Côtes du Rhône, so it ought to be very good ...and it is! Spice, jammy fruit and a rich silky finish. This Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre blend (called 'Trescartes') exemplifies all that is great about the increasingly-popular Southern Rhône reds.

2 x Rioja: Marqués de Zearra Crianza 2014£0.00

We know it's across the Pyrenees from our usual patch, but we couldn't resist buying this crackerjack red Rioja that practically drinks itself. Tempranillo - with 10% Mazuelo (Carignan) - from a small bodega in Fuenmajor, it has 24 months in barrel and 3 years in bottle prior to release, illustrating the great value to be found in La Rioja.
