Bourgogne Pinot Noir: Domaine Bruno Colin 2021
Bruno Colin’s Bourgogne Pinot Noir follows its sibling Chardonnay as a very drinkable introduction to the wines of Burgundy, the Côte de Beaune in particular. From 30 to 50 year-old vines planted on clay-limestone soils, it is aged in oak barrels (25% new). It’s a great value, red Burgundy from a top producer.
Bursting with juicy red fruit on the nose leading to round, elegant cherry and blackcurrant flavours on the palate underlined by silky smooth tannins. Best enjoyed young.
From typically Burgundian clay-limestone vineyards ‘Grand Champs’ and ‘Grand Prés’ lieu-dits, this Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Bruno Colin is a great example of red Burgundy following Bruno’s classic style. Bruno recommends drinking it on its youthful fruit.

Domaine Bruno Colin
Third-generation vigneron Bruno Colin grew up on the family domaine Michel Colin-Deleger on the Côte de Beaune. After training in viticulture at the prestigious school of Beaune, he began working with his parents and brother on the family vines in 1993. Ten years later the family split the domaine between cousins, and the eponymous Domaine Bruno Colin was born - with his first vintage in 2004. Now extending to almost nine hectares, Bruno has holdings in Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint- Aubin, Santenay and Dezize-les-Maranges in the Côte-Chalonaise. With vines across 22 appellations including eight Premiers Crus Whites in Chassagne-Montrachet, Bruno strives to reflect each differing terroir in his wines. His distinctive style focuses on expressing freshness and minerality and the best examples show a superb balance of tension and texture.
