Chablis: Domaine Christophe Camu 'Beauroy' Premier Cru 2021

Ratcheting up a gear in rank (and, bien sur, price) from the generic Chablis is Christophe Camu's 'Premier Cru' bottling from the south-facing Beauroy vineyard. A concentrated, expressive Chablis that will stand up well to fish or poultry in creamy sauces and will cellar for a decade.

Tasting Notes

Christophe Camu's 'Premier Cru' Chablis hails from the the Beauroy climat 3 kilometres north east of the town centre.

It has a pale straw colour with floral aromas and a weightier, more complex palate than its junior sibling, with classic 'wet pebble' mineral tastes, rich fruit and a long, dry finish.

Domaine Christophe Camu

Father and son Christophe and Dylan Camu represent the 6th and 7th generations of their family to make wine in Chablis where they tend 13 hectares of vines encompassing Petit Chablis, Chablis, Premier and Grand Cru appellations. Over the past few years he has incorporated into his operation the vines of his mother and step-father (long-standing Yapp suppliers Martine & Patrick Guitton) as they moved into retirement.
