Chassagne-Montrachet: Domaine Bruno Colin 'Vieilles Vignes' Rouge 2019
Less well-known than its white wine sibling, Bruno Colin's fine red Chassagne-Montrachet comes from 45+ year old vines (hence 'Vieilles Vignes') grown on four clay-limestone parcels to the east of the village.
Bruno Colin's Chassagne-Montrachet rouge has aromas of ripe fruits, rich and concentrated with a chewy texture. It has excellent ageing potential.

Domaine Bruno Colin
Third-generation vigneron Bruno Colin grew up on the family domaine Michel Colin-Deleger on the Côte de Beaune. After training in viticulture at the prestigious school of Beaune, he began working with his parents and brother on the family vines in 1993. Ten years later the family split the domaine between cousins, and the eponymous Domaine Bruno Colin was born - with his first vintage in 2004. Now extending to almost nine hectares, Bruno has holdings in Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint- Aubin, Santenay and Dezize-les-Maranges in the Côte-Chalonaise. With vines across 22 appellations including eight Premiers Crus Whites in Chassagne-Montrachet, Bruno strives to reflect each differing terroir in his wines. His distinctive style focuses on expressing freshness and minerality and the best examples show a superb balance of tension and texture.
