Country Weekender Mixed Case Offer
Fine wine for cosy retreats.
If you're not an 'insta influencer' who can persuade a Five Star resort in Dubai to put you and your friends up for the whole of January gratis in return for the odd poolside selfie, your next best option for enjoying this chilly month is to invest in this case and find a pal with an empty cottage in the countryside. Referencing some well-heeled wines from Champagne, the Rhône, Loire, Alsace, Burgundy and Provence, it's time for long walks, jolly dinners and competitive charades - make your own fun!
This mixed case contains two bottles each of:
Yapp Champagne: Brut NV
Sancerre: Domaine André Vatan 'Les Perriers' Blanc 2020
Alsace: Léon Beyer 'Réserve Personnelle' Pinot Gris 2017
"This smells so good... Fresh peach juice and crab-apple jelly. It could only be Alsace PG! Yum, yum, yum. Like a love bite of warm whole-wheat seedy oat-bread toast smeared with apple jelly and a dab of almond butter. Ripe, ripe apples. Ripe, ripe pears. A very fine sliver of herbs. Oyster mushrooms. It tastes, momentarily, as if there could be some residual sugar there, but then the finish tastes totally dry and textured. Clever wine. Drink 2020 - 2025. 17/20."

Châteauneuf-du-Pape: Domaine du Père Caboche Rouge 2020
"This cuvée is a year-in, year-out classic, complex wine, and the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape doesn't appear to break that trend. Lots of ripe cherry, peppery herbs, toasted nut, and meaty notes define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied, with a supple, elegant texture, light tannins, and a great finish. 90-92/100."

Vosne Romanée: Domaine Misset-Cheron 'Les Barreaux' 2014
Château Simone Rouge 2018
