Crémant de Die: Domaine Achard-Vincent Brut
This Crémant de Die Brut from Domaine Achard-Vincent is a light, dry sparkling wine with aromas of orchard fruit preceding a palate of russet apples and pears underscored by minerally nuances followed by a fresh, clean finish.
Certified as an organic wine.
The 'P'tit Jules' cuvée is a dry, sparkling Crémant de Die wine made from a blend of Muscat, Clairette and Aligoté, bottle fermented in the 'Méthode Traditionelle'. It is produced organically and biodynamically, with no added sulphites. It is ideal as a versatile, crowd-pleasing aperitif.

|Vinification||The grapes used to make the Crémant de Die Brut are picked at optimum ripeness and are then pressed and fermented to produce a still wine. This is then vivified in the Méthode Traditionelle (formerly known as 'Champenois', which is now reserved exclusively for wines made in the Champane region). A mixture of yeasts and sugar, known as liqueur de triage, is added to the still wine in the bottle (which is then sealed with a crown cap) to induce a secondary fermentation the by-product of which is carbon dioxide which gives the wine its 'sparkle'. Modern gyropallettes are used to tilt and turn the bottles (a process known as remuage) to collect deposits of yeast on the bottle closure. The neck of the bottle is then frozen in brine solution and these deposits are removed (known as degorgement) before the bottles are topped up and sealed with a proper flared cork.|

Jean-Pierre Achard and his son Thomas farm 18 hectares of vines in the appellation of Clairette de Die, in the Drôme valley, around the village of Sainte Croix, 8 kilometres west of the town of Die. The Domaine Achard-Vincent enjoys a dramatic location in the foothills of the Alps at the confluence of the rivers Drôme and Sure. This impressive, independent estate was an early pioneer of organic viticulture and the vineyard has been fully certified by Ecocert since 1982. The Achards' signature wine, which dominates production is a delicate, gently-sparkling sweet Clairette de Die made from a blend of 80% Muscat and 20% Clairette. Jean-Pierre also makes a dry, sparkling, bottle-fermented Crémant de Die from a blend of Clairette, Aligoté and Muscat.
