Less can be more with these six fantastic wines from celebrated independent winemakers. In a world where it is increasingly challenging to source half-bottles (as they are less efficient for the winery to produce), we are chuffed to introduce halves from Léon Beyer and Grand Montmirail to our range.

This mixed case contains two half-bottles each of:

SPARKLING:
Alsace: Léon Beyer Crémant d'Alsace Brut

WHITE:
Lirac: Domaine Maby 'La Fermade' Blanc 2018
Quincy: Jerôme de la Chaise 2018

RED:
Gigondas: Domaine du Grand Montmirail 'Vieilles Vignes' 2015
Châteauneuf du Pape: Domaine du Père Caboche Rouge 2018
Saumur Champigny: Domaine Filliatreau 'Vieilles Vignes' 2016

This mixed case includes

2 x Alsace: Léon Beyer Crémant d'Alsace Brut£0.00

Elegant, dry methode traditionelle sparkling wine produced from Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois. Something of a local secret, 90% of Cremant d'Alsace is consumed in La France. It is easy to see why they're keen to hang on to it.

2 x Lirac: Domaine Maby 'La Fermade' Blanc 2018£0.00

White Lirac is deserving of wider recognition, and the Domaine Maby bottling is a is a fine example - a blend of Grenache Blanc and Clairette that is given some welcome freshness by Piquepoul. A wine that drinks well on its own but is a shoo-in with seafood.

2 x Quincy: Jerôme de la Chaise 2018£0.00

This delightful, racy Sauvignon Blanc from Quincy is made by Jerôme de la Chaise, and has an excellent nose with classic elderflower aromas. This wine makes a terrific accompaniment to asparagus, seafood or fresh goat's cheeses.

2 x Gigondas: Domaine du Grand Montmirail 'Vieilles Vignes' 2015£0.00

"The 2015 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes is also outstanding and checks in as a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre... It gives up lots of leather, peppery herbs, black cherry and assorted darker berry fruit in a medium-bodied, fresh, focused style. With ripe tannin and good acidity, it will keep for a decade or more. 90/100."

2 x Châteauneuf du Pape: Domaine du Père Caboche Rouge 2018£0.00

"Moving to the reds, smoked herbs, black cherries, garrigue, and peppery herb notes all emerge from the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a terrific, classic cuvée that has elegance as well as richness. A blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre brought up in concrete and stainless steel, it's well worth seeking out and will keep for upwards of a decade." 89-91/100. Drink 2019 - 2029.
