Saumur Champigny: Domaine Filliatreau 'Vieilles Vignes' 2017

This mixed case includes

1 x Champagne: Dumangin Fils. Cuvée 17£0.00

A 'graceful, heavenly' Champagne 'at a down to earth price' (according to wine writer, Matthew Jukes). This classic grower's Champagne, made predominantly from Premier Cru vines near Reims, is crisp, dry and biscuity.

1 x Condrieu: Domaine Georges Vernay 'Les Terrasses de l'Empire' 2018£0.00

"The 2018 Condrieu Les Terrasses de L'Empire has a portion brought up in oak, all being used, and it's always a great introduction into the wines of this estate. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and seamless, it has terrific purity (especially given the heat in the vintage) as well as lots of white flower, salted citrus, tangerine, and a kiss of rocky minerality. Nicely concentrated as well as balanced, this brilliant wine is not far off the two pricier releases.
Drink 2020-2030. 94/100."

1 x Quincy: Jerôme de la Chaise 2019£0.00

This delightful, racy Sauvignon Blanc from Quincy is made by Jerôme de la Chaise (bottled under his 'Domaine des Bruniers' label), and has an excellent nose with classic elderflower aromas. This wine makes a terrific accompaniment to asparagus, seafood or fresh goat's cheeses.

1 x Sancerre: Domaine André Vatan 'Les Perriers' Blanc 2019£0.00

Sancerre 'Les Perriers' from André Vatan is a benchmark white Sancerre wine - pure Sauvignon Blanc, with a classic elderflower bouquet and a lean, zesty palate.

It's the Sancerre 'de choix' of many a Michelin-starred restaurant, so if you'd like to experience 'best in class', this is your man.

1 x Chablis: Domaine Christophe Camu 2018£0.00

Classy, unoaked Chablis from a talented, sixth generation winemaker. It is light and supple enough to savor without accompaniment but will take all manner of crustacea and seafood in its stride.

1 x Jurançon Moelleux: Domaine Bellegarde 2016£0.00

Pascal Labasse is justifiably renowned for the superb sweet wines he produces. His 'Hitorique' Jurançon Moelleux is made from 80% Petit Manseng and 20% Gros Manseng that are harvested at optimum ripeness. Vivacious crisp and ripe citrus aromas lead to rich tropical fruit flavours underlined by a touch of sweet spice with refreshing acidity. Drink lightly chilled.

1 x Gigondas: Domaine du Grand Montmirail 'Vieilles Vignes' 2016£0.00

"The finest wine ever from this estate is the 2016 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes, which is 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre that was destemmed and brought up in 30% new barrels. (The Grenache was brought up all in concrete). It's an incredibly gorgeous, full-bodied, powerful yet elegant Gigondas that has rocking notes of plums, black raspberries, kirsch, spice, and new saddle leather literally soaring from the glass. With ultra-fine tannins, a silky, seamless texture, no hard edges, and a great, great finish, it's a wine to buy by the case. 95/100."

1 x Vacqueyras: Pascal Frères 'Cuvée Spéciale' 2018£0.00

This Vacqueyras wine is a silky, spicy Southern Rhône Grenache blend that impresses customers and staff alike in successive vintages. Subtle enough to enjoy on its own, but sublime when paired with game dishes.

1 x Lirac: Domaine Maby 'La Fermade' Rouge 2018£0.00

The red Lirac 'La Fermade' from Domaine Maby is an under-rated Châteauneuf'-style blend that is the quintessential fireside red wine. Made from Rhône staples Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, this warming red is packed with briary garrigue berry scents and flavours with a touch of violets, earthy undertones and rugged tannins. It too is a dependable crowd-pleaser offering more depth and complexity than most Côtes-du-Rhône without the price tag of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

1 x Châteauneuf du Pape: Le Vieux Donjon Rouge 2018£0.00

"A rich, mouthfilling effort, Vieux Donjon's 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape is concentrated and velvety, showing plenty of power and weight. Ripe cherries and raspberries are dusted with clove and star anise, then joined by hints of leather and cocoa on the long, intense finish. This is a beautiful Vieux Donjon that should drink well for more than a decade. 95/100."
Joe Czerwinski - The Wine Advocate.

1 x Bandol: Mas de la Rouvière Rouge 2017£0.00

A full-bodied Bandol red wine from the Côte d'Azur, with a beguiling, deep purple robe, dark, hedgerow berry scents and a palate of black fruit, spices, dried ceps and game.

1 x Saumur Champigny: Domaine Filliatreau 'Vieilles Vignes' 2017£0.00

Big, bountiful, gastronomic Cabernet Franc - a rich and powerful wine displaying herbaceous aromas. It has a wonderful core of ripe cassis flavours and a fine structure of tannins. It should be decanted before drinking and can mature happily for up to a decade. Indeed, we are so enamoured of it that we ship it in half-bottles and magnums to cover every conceivable occasion!
