Our best-selling Crémant joins forces with a taut, nervy Alsace Riesling and a richer white from the Auvergne to provide the first half of a cracking Christmas case. A couple of hearty, rustic reds from the Rhône are matched with a juicy Merlot from Gascony to complete this satisfying and comprehensive line-up.

This case also serves as our 'Sommelier Service' case – a subscription arrangement where customers get a delivery of six different wines (two bottles of each) every two months for £149. For further details of the service, see here for regular wine deliveries. As ever, this case is available as all red or all white.

This mixed case contains two bottles each of:

SPARKLING WHITE:
Crémant de Limoux: Domaine Collin 'Cuvée Sélection' Brut
"When I first tasted this wine, my handwritten tasting note simply said, 'best Crémant ever'. Made by the son of a Champagne-maker, Philippe Collin uses the traditional method and also a classic recipe of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay to make a wine which is dreamily delicious in every respect."
Matthew Jukes - MoneyWeek Wine Club

WHITE:
Saint-Pourçain: 'Cuvée Printanière' Blanc 2020
Alsace: Léon Beyer 'Réserve Personnelle' Riesling 2019

RED:
Côtes du Vivarais: Vignerons Ardéchois 'Grand Aven' 2019
Côtes de Gascogne: Domaine Millet Merlot 2019
Costières de Nîmes: Château Roubaud Rouge 2019

This mixed case includes

2 x Crémant de Limoux: Domaine Collin 'Cuvée Sélection' Brut£0.00

Philippe Collin, the son of a Champenois, makes this bottle-fermented Crémant de Limoux sparkling wine from 'Champagne grapes' Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Limoux region. The fine mousse and clean finish of this excellent Crémant de Limoux belie its Seventies label and humble price tag.

2 x Saint-Pourçain: 'Cuvée Printanière' Blanc 2020£0.00

This popular, mid-weight Saint-Pourçain white wine from the Auvergne has subtle citrus aromas, fresh, zesty fruit flavours and a crisp and clean finish.

2 x Alsace: Léon Beyer 'Réserve Personnelle' Riesling 2019£0.00

The Beyer family have been winemakers in the historic region of Alsace for over 400 years. Unsurprisingly given that heritage, they have honed their skills and produce high-class Alsatian varieties, among which this Riesling shines brightly.

2 x Côtes du Vivarais: Vignerons Ardéchois 'Grand Aven' 2019£0.00

A full-bodied, earthy, dry, Rhône red, this Côtes du Vivarais wine has a bouquet of dark hedgerow berries that precedes a full-bodied palate of black fruit with warming undertones of earth and spices.

2 x Côtes de Gascogne: Domaine Millet Merlot 2019£0.00

A pure Merlot Côtes de Gascogne wine which has a similar fruit-forward appeal to it's Cabernet Franc / Merlot sibling - appealing mulberry aromas and soft, plummy palate.

Just the thing to accompany a steak frites or saucisse de Toulouse!
