Our Christmas 'Sommelier Service' case (a subscription service - for further details see here for regular wine deliveries) kicks off with a delicious, bottle-fermented sparkling blend of Jacquère and Roussette from the newest of France's eight Crémant regions, the Savoie (AOC – 2015). The two still whites come from the Rhône and Loire valleys, cornerstones of our wine list for half a century. A crisp, dry Chenin is complemented by a weightier Southern Rhône blend with a little bottle–age, making it an ideal partner for poultry or a luxury fish pie.

All three reds are primed for drinking over the new few months: a juicy Cabernet Franc - Merlot from Gascony, a succulent Alicante - Syrah combination from the Hérault and J-L Chave Sélection's supple Côtes du Rhône.
(Also available as all red or all white).

This mixed case contains two bottles each of:

SPARKLING WHITE:
Crémant de Savoie: Domaine de L'Idylle Brut
"Pale golden colour, inviting nose, lively fruit aromas and a hint of pear. Super for an aperitif, or with a ripe Reblochon. 90/100."
Sue Style - Decanter magazine.

WHITE:
Côtes du Rhône Villages Sablet: Domaine Saint Gayan 2016
Saumur Blanc 2019

RED:
Côtes du Rhône: Jean-Louis Chave Sélection 'Mon Coeur' 2018
"Deep ruby-red. Smoke-accented cherry, dark berries and licorice on the perfumed nose, which takes on succulent floral and herb nuances with air. Smooth, concentrated and gently sweet, offering mineral- and spice-accented black raspberry, cherry and violet pastille flavors and a spicy jolt of cracked pepper. Finishes supple, sweet and quite long, with harmonious tannins and lingering florality. 91/100."

Côtes de Gascogne: Domaine Millet Merlot - Cabernet Franc 2018
IGP Vin de Pays de l'Hérault: Domaine Roquemale 'Meli Melo' 2019

FESTIVE FEAST DELUXE:
Upgrade my festivities to a 15-bottle case!

Our popular seasonal twist is that, for an extra outlay and a larger saving, you can add three superior bottles to create a bumper 15-bottle case.

The Festive Feast Deluxe case includes the wines in the standard case, PLUS one bottle each of:

RED:
Lussac-Saint-Émilion: Château Milonblanc 2016
Collioure: Domaine La Tour Vieille 'La Pinède' 2018
South Africa - Wellington: Migliarina Grenache 2017
"Like Hervé Bizeul, Carsten is another sommelier-turned-winemaker. 4,400 bottles produced. South African Grenache can be extremely good... Pale ruby. Sweet, fresh, strawberry fruit. Definitely Grenache but with a very light touch. So gluggable... Might be a little light to go with some foods but it would be the perfect red aperitif. Absolutely up my boulevard. Not given away though... Drink 2019 – 2023. 16.5/20."

This mixed case includes

2 x Crémant de Savoie: Domaine de L'Idylle Brut£0.00

Crémant de Savoie achieved appellation controlée status in December 2015, so we had no hesitation in adding the Tiollier's refreshing fizz to our sparkling range.

2 x Côtes du Rhône Villages Sablet: Domaine Saint Gayan 2016£0.00

"Lush, old-vine white from one of the Rhône 'crus'. Really good value for money."
Fiona Beckett - The Guardian.

2 x Saumur Blanc 2019£0.00

This crisp, white Saumur wine that is produced from Chenin Blanc on the chalky soils of Anjou is a firm favourite with Yapp customers and staff alike. This may have something to do with the eye-catching Charles de Gaulle label, but more likely is because this Saumur Blanc is a refreshing, fruity, bon marché crowd-pleaser that makes for an ideal aperitif or partner to salads.

2 x Côtes du Rhône: Jean-Louis Chave Sélection 'Mon Coeur' 2018£0.00

"Deep ruby-red. Smoke-accented cherry, dark berries and licorice on the perfumed nose, which takes on succulent floral and herb nuances with air. Smooth, concentrated and gently sweet, offering mineral- and spice-accented black raspberry, cherry and violet pastille flavors and a spicy jolt of cracked pepper. Finishes supple, sweet and quite long, with harmonious tannins and lingering florality. 91/100."

2 x Côtes de Gascogne: Domaine Millet Merlot - Cabernet Franc 2018£0.00

A quaffable blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot from Gascony that really comes into its own with poultry dishes - Christmas turkey would be ideal!

2 x IGP Vin de Pays de l'Hérault: Domaine Roquemale 'Meli Melo' 2019£0.00

This inspired discovery from a recent foray into the heart of the Languedoc is organic and relatively low in alcohol. Think of it as a quaffable, sun-kissed Beaujolais of the South!
