Handy Half-Bottles

Three long-standing suppliers – Meffre, Maby & Guyot - are joined by a new (Bordelais) addition to our half-bottle range. Having shipped Jean-Louis d'Anglade's Bordeaux Supérieur Château d'Abzac and Lussac Saint-Émilion Château Milonblanc in 75cl bottles for a decade, we've coaxed him into providing us with half-bottles of both (although the former is due in the summer). Just the ticket for a working lunch.

This mixed case contains three half-bottles each of:

Pouilly-Fumé: Domaine Dominique Guyot 'Les Loges' 2019

Lirac: Domaine Maby 'La Fermade' Rosé 2019

Côtes du Rhône: Domaine Saint Gayan 'Trescartes' 2018
Lussac-Saint-Émilion: Château Milonblanc 2018

This mixed case includes

3 x Pouilly-Fumé: Domaine Dominique Guyot 'Les Loges' 2019£0.00

Dominique Guyot produces this bright, rich, rounded Pouilly Fumé wine from mature rootstock on the coveted 'Les Loges' escarpment in the centre of this Loire appellation, which is reserved for wines made from Sauvignon Blanc.

This superb example of Pouilly Fumé drinks jolly well on its own but shellfish, asparagus and goat's cheese are all apposite accompaniments.

3 x Lirac: Domaine Maby 'La Fermade' Rosé 2019£0.00

The Domaine Maby Lirac rosé is made from Rhône staples Grenache and Cinsault. It is more full-bodied than many rosé wines, with a bouquet of bright berry fruit and a full and fruity palate with undertones of rosehips and redcurrants. It's a great food wine, pair it with a broad variety of foods from salmon to charcuterie, and it also lends itself well to Oriental cuisine.

3 x Côtes du Rhône: Domaine Saint Gayan 'Trescartes' 2018£0.00

Yapp is known as a Rhône specialist and this is our flagship Côtes du Rhône, so it ought to be very good ...and it is! Spice, jammy fruit and a rich silky finish. This Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre blend (called 'Trescartes') exemplifies all that is great about the increasingly-popular Southern Rhône reds.

3 x Lussac-Saint-Émilion: Château Milonblanc 2018£0.00

A delightful mid-weight Claret from Lussac-Saint-Émilion, an up-and-coming satellite appellation that delivers terrific value for money.
