Jura Arbois: Savagnin Domaine Jean-Louis Tissot 2020
The Savagnin grape typifies the Jura and produces the region's famous Vin Jaune. However, a significant proportion is released without Vin Jaune's six years mandatory ageing, either as a 'traditional' (slightly oxidative style) like this one, or as a 'floral' conventional white wine. We love the former.
Barrels of Savagnin are permitted to age without being topped up, giving rise to this slightly oxidative style of white wine for which the region is famous. Bien typique!
