Tasting Notes

Jerôme de la Chaise is an experienced 'vigneron indépendent' and tasting here tends to be a rapid affair as Sauvignon Blanc is the only permitted grape in Quincy, France's second oldest 'appellation contrôlée', and Jerôme makes just the one wine.

Always a bien classique bottling, this Quincy wine has inviting nettley aromas and a palate of juicy, gooseberry fruit offset by racy mineral notes.

Jerôme de la Chaise

Jerôme de la Chaise is a respected and experienced vigneron independent in Quincy, making just one wine from the only permitted white grape variety - Sauvignon Blanc. The domaine has been making wine on the alluvial sand and gravel soils of the appellation since 1985 and now covers some 10 hectares. One of only a small number of producers who grow their own grapes and make their own wines, his Quincy bottling represents the appellation in a very pure light and demonstrates why small, independent producers deserve our support.
