Alongside producing top-drawer Somerset sparkling wine, Guy Smith & Laura Evans' Langport Gin seeks inspiration from the wild herbs growing amongst their vines. London Dry in style, their small-batch gin uses rosemary, thyme, bay and meadowsweet to produce an intense lemon- and juniper-scented distillate. Guy and Laura suggest using it in a 'Somerset Soixante-Quinze' - a riff on the classic French 75 cocktail. (25ml Gin + 12ml lemon juice + 5ml sugar syrup + top up with Smith & Evans Sparkling Pinot Chardonnay. Garnish with a twist of lemon rind).
