Domaine des Lambrays

Domaine des Lambrays has historic origins yet is most known for its ownership of the Grand Cru vineyard 'Clos des Lambrays' plus some Premier Cru and Villages sites in Morey-St-Denis and Puligny-Montrachet. Its near 'monopole' stake in Clos des Lambrays (bar 420 square metres of the 8.66ha), means it looks after one of the largest of the Pinot Noir Grand Crus in Burgundy (promoted to Grand Cru in 1981). Owned by the Freune family from 1996 to 2014 who invested in quality, working with winemaker Thierry Brouin (who's been working there since 1979). In 2014 it was bought by Bernard Arnault's Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton group. Farmed according to organic principles, it uses horses to plough between rows and uses no anti-rot chemicals.
