Menetou-Salon Wine
Patricia and Olivier Luneau in Menetou-Salon had a textbook training at Beaune's famous wine school which they augmented with some New World know-how in wineries in New Zealand. Today, all their vines are farmed organically and they produce outstanding wines with a strong sense of varietal character. Their white wine is a pure Sauvignon Blanc with alluring nettle and preserved lemon scents and sensuous stone fruit palate with a long, elegant finish. A coral-pink rosé is made from Pinot Noir and has a rosehip bouquet and bright summer berry palate. Completing a commendable range is a red Pinot Noir with soft red fruit aromas and a smoothly-textured palate of dark cherries offset by supple tannins. It drinks well lightly-chilled with charcuterie and substantial salads.
