Patricia Luneau (née Teiller) is the fourth generation of her family to practice viticulture at Menetou-Salon and works alongside her husband Olivier. They met when studying at the famous wine school in Beaune before decamping to New Zealand to get some valuable insight in to New World wine-making know-how. Today they tend 18 hectares of vines, 11 of which are Sauvignon Blanc and 7 of which are Pinot Noir – all farmed organically. P and O run a very tight ship with scrupulous vineyard and cellar management yielding very clean, poised and precise wines. Their Sauvignon Blanc has a bright gooseberry and melon bouquet and smoothly-textured tropical fruit palate with an elegant dry finish. An attractive coral pink rosé, from pure Pinot Noir, has crushed summer berry scents and flavours offset by a fresh acidity. Completing the range is a brick red Pinot Noir with wild strawberry scents and a palate of soft red fruits supported by supple tannins. It drinks well lightly chilled with soft cheese or charcuterie.
