Alsace: Riesling 2004

This Alsace Riesling from Charles Schléret has classic kerosene aromas, a deep straw colour and a touch of residual sugar. Like many Alsace wines, it makes an excellent accompaniment to spicy Asian dishes deploying chillis, lemon grass and coriander.

Aging nicely, with some botrytis adding peachy warmth to the limey custard apple, fruit pie and burnt sugar flavours, and an elegant minerally finish.
