Sancerre Rosé: Maulin Bèle 2011

This Sancerre Rosé from Domaine André Vatan, called ‘Maulin Bèle’, is also as bien classique as their 'Les Perriers' Sancerre Blanc. Made from pure Pinot Noir, it has a lovely pale coral colour, delicate redcurrant scents and the domaine’s signature elegant, dry finish.

  • Style: Rosé Wine, Dry (Sec), Light-bodied
  • Region: LoireSancerre
  • Producer: André Vatan
  • Vintage: 2011
  • Grape variety (Cépage): Pinot Noir
  • Cellarage: Best drunk within 2 years of vintage.
  • Vinification: Takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats after the grapes have been entirely de-stalked. The white grape juice rests overnight on the red grape skins, imparting a pale pink colour before the tank is 'bled' (hence the term saignée which is used for this method of rosé winemaking) the following day.
The wine undergoes a cool fermentation prior to fining, filtering and a spring bottling.
  • Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 12.5%
