Coteaux d'Aix: Domaine des Oullières Blanc 2011

This white Coteaux d'Aix wine is produced from a blend of Rolle, Genache Gris and Ugni Blanc. It has a bouquet of white flowers with hints of fennel and a crisp, dry palate of peaches and pears with alluring undertones of herbs and oil.
The entire 70 hectare Domaine des Oullières estate is under conversion to organic status, which should impact from the 2012 vintage onwards.

What others think of this wine...

Julia Harding - JancisRobinson.com says:

Vermentino/Grenache blend. Some skin contact. Fine balance between subtle minerality and delicate perfume on the nose. A woody, cedary flavour on the palate (not oaked). Fresh, lightly textured, dry. Just a touch warm on the finish. 15.5. Drink 2012-2014.

David Williams - The Observer, 18th November 2012 says:

Think of Provençal wines and chances are you'll think rosé, but there are many other wines made in the area, and they can be rather more interesting. That's certainly the case with this quietly impressive white blend, which has a tarragon or fennel-like streak to the perfectly ripe stone fruit that takes you straight to the Mediterranean.

Simon Hoggart - The Spectator, October 2012 says:

Our first white choice is in the subtle bracket. It is a Harmonie de Provence from the Domaine des Oullières. Drink it too cold and you won't appreciate the flavours of fennel and fresh fruit and herbs, nor will you get the pleasingly oily feel which makes the flavour linger longer. It's made from three southern grapes, Rolle, Grenache and Ugni Blanc, and I think you'll enjoy it a lot.

The Wine Gang - www.thewinegang.com says:

A Provençal blend of Rolle (aka Vermentino), Grenache Blanc and Ugni Blanc, this has a wonderful herbal lift to its ripe orchard fruit and a hint of nuttiness on a rounded, rich but still focused palate. Very evocative, very good value.

Fiona Beckett - The Guardian, 26/05/2012. says:

And if you don't have a street to party in, or just want to go into denial for the next 10 days, here's a nice bottle to help you forget the collective madness: Domaine Oullières Côteaux d'Aix 2011 (£9.95, Yapp Brothers; 14.5% abv), an intense, fragrant, vermentino-based Provençal white to drink with seafood. Bliss
