Côtes du Rhône: Jean-Louis Chave Sélection 'Mon Coeur' 2021
A deliciously ripe blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, this Côtes du Rhône wine has a wonderful core of dark, berry fruit supported by a framework of ripe tannin with cooling, grantic notes and a sleek, sophisticated texture. It is readily approachable from release.
Northern Rhône maestro Jean-Louis Chave's magnificent négociant-bottling of 'Mon Coeur' Côtes du Rhône hails from parcels of mature rootstock around Vinsobres and Cairanne. Ideal as an autumnal red wine - serve with game or wild mushroom dishes.

Jean-Louis Chave Sélection
The 1995 vintage was the first vintage Jean-Louis produced under his 'négociant' label 'Sélection'. Purchasing Syrah grapes from good friends in Saint-Joseph, it formed the basis for a range that includes a red and white St Joseph named 'Offerus' and 'Circa respectively, a Crozes-Hermitage ''Silène'', 'Mon Coeur' Côtes-du-Rhône and a Hermitage Rouge 'Farconnet' and 'Blanche'. At the same time, the Chave family began restoring derelict vineyards in Saint-Joseph, the fruit from which now forms the basis of several of these wines. The 'Sélection' wines receive as much care and attention as the Domaine wines and their quality shows Jean-Louis' commitment to the region and drive for accessibility at keen prices.
